This course will focus on the newly emerged intellectual property issues at the international level, including:
- the development of IP laws, from WTO to the IP chapter of FTAs and bilateral agreements
- IP protection vs. public health protection (I): WTO’s dispute settlement on Plain packaging of tobacco products regarding the enforcement of trademark right
- IP protection vs. public health protection (II): IPRs issues of pharmaceutical products from the perspectives of developing and developed countries
- challenge of copyright protection in the era of globalization
